David Theobald is a video artist living in the UK. David’s recent practice involves the creation of digital animations from photographs or downloaded images, blending these together to create a familiar yet alien environment. Often constructed as endless loops, these works both mirror the structure of the technology used in their creation and the repetitive processes that seem central to the infrastructure of contemporary society.

Recent exhibitions include Re: Animate at the Oriel Davies Gallery, Wales, ev+a in Limerick, Ireland, the Cube Open 2010, the Celeste Art Prize 09 in Berlin and Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2008. David’s work was also included in Figuring Landscapes, a touring exhibition of film and video that showed at major art venues throughout the UK and Australia. David curated the exhibition Modern Times at the Vegas Gallery and was also winner of the last Creekside Open, selected by Mark Wallinger, and the Open West 2011. David is also an Associate Lecturer at Wimbledon College of Art, part of University of the Arts, London.
